Have you been searching for the knowledge and experience to grow earlier spring blooms and to grow in general with less weed pressure? Here at ERF, our passion is cool-season planting and harvesting (and less weeding, of course!)! In this intensive workshop, we will cover the basics of seed-starting cold-hardy annuals, short-term perennials, and biennials through stratification processes suitable and successful during hot weather. This is suitable for all levels of experience, and a tunnel or covered structure is not a requirement to grow some of these blooms. We will learn WHY starting several varieties of early-season annuals is better in mid-summer, and what to do with those crops come fall and spring for the earliest possible harvest dates. We will cover a dozen varieties in-depth, and all participants will leave with a comprehensive packet of flower varieties and seed-starting dates, as well as super tricks for growing methods that will aid in the most success with these cold-loving crops. Learn how to spread the workload out in early spring, and which crops can go into the ground well ahead of schedule, along with attracting pollinators to your gardens a month or more in advance of neighboring gardeners and farmers. I cannot WAIT to share this experience and knowledge with you at this in-depth flower farming workshop! Sunday, July 14th, from noon-5 at the farm, beginning with a farm tour! Come share the experience of our flower farm together!
